Enitan Agidee is an accredited trichologist, who created the Healthy Hair Studio which is a hair coaching and trichology services. She took some time out of her busy schedule to give us an insight into her career.

What made you decide to set up your own beauty business?

I had started my personal hair journey and I had a bad experience in a salon which set me back three inches.

What is the concept behind the Mighty Moisture Range:?

We wanted to develop a product range that was pioneering and performed exceptionally. As at the date we launched were the only UK Black brand to use hyaluronic acid in haircare. We wanted to use both ingredients and formulation that advocated not just for dry hair but for extremely dry hair.

What sort of research did you do to find out what sort of products your customers?

Over seven years I would write key words that clients were in need from a product and what their expectations were. I knew one day the brand would develop a product range so I kept adding adjectives to my list over the years.

Then I carried out extensive research to understand which ingredients can fulfil the requirements of those adjectives. I worked with scientists to turn this into a formulation that gave supreme performance.

Today, we hear from our customers who tell us that the products even changed their mindset of what they had previously believed about their hair.

How did you decide on the look and feel of your brand?

It had to look luxurious with the shape, colours and artwork. Bamboo reflects sustainability. The quality and exquisite craftmanship had to reflect the effort in research and formulation.

That being said, I didn’t want to be known as a luxury band because I wanted those who didn’t have huge bank accounts to still be able to access the products.

What are your future plans for the brand?

Visibility. We need those who have given up on their hair to be hopeful again by using the Mighty Moisture and Moisture Hold.

We want those who have put limited beliefs on their hair to see that it is possible for their hair to reach greater potential. We need people to know hope exists so they can change their hair story as result of the products.

What advice do you have for anyone who wants to set up their own beauty business?

Be authentic, take that skill and sharpen it with additional training and education. Gain knowledge that makes you an authority.
