The Best Beauty Podcasts To Listen To

You cannot deny that podcasts are the hottest thing since sliced bread. There are several beauty podcasts on the market and the latest addition is Power Of Make Up.

Power of Makeup

Created by world-renowned makeup artist and author of two bestselling books, Lan Nguyen-Grealis, during lockdown to embrace community and education in the creative industry. Lan opens up her little black book of leading UK fashion and beauty industry contacts to inspire and unite others. Her subject matters include hairdresser, Errol Douglas and makeup artist, Ruby Hammer, to name just a few. They discuss their inspirations, discuss key collaborations, the secrets to longevity and how they have worked to tackle inclusivity and diversity head on.

Unpretty

This podcast is hosted by film-maker, director and journalist, Basma Khalifa and fashion PR, Chi Ufodiama where they explore the perceptions of beauty through the lens of Black and Asian women and men. Each episode focuses on one single theme such as wearing braids to work, looking after your wellbeing, and the importance of wearing SPF.

Beauty Me with Charisse Kennon

Beauty journalist, Charisse Kenion presents this podcast which is about all things beauty - she interviews players in the industry and covers topical issues.

Although it has not been updated since May there is a massive archive of material for you to get stuck into.

The Life of a Makeup Artist

Ever wondered what it is really like to be an MUA? Well this podcast gives you a real inside look on how MUAs really live. The Life of a Makeup Artist is hosted by Jaleesa Jaikaran who has worked with Elle, Glamour, Teen Vogue, Essence, L’Officiel, Vogue Italia and Refinery29. You can listen to business chats with industry insiders and founders.

The Texture Lounge

This podcast is created by Tumi Soyinka, who is the marketing boss lady for MIZANI in the US, So she knows what she is talking about. We like this podcast because they go into a lot of detail about the products they talk about so you pick up some good tips. Also it's very refreshing to get a consumer and expert point of view.

Breaking Beauty

Magazine beauty editors, Jill Dunn and Carlene Higgins interview players in the beauty industry and discuss how they made their way through the industry. So far they have featured the founder of Caudalie, and Fresh.

They also bring in the experts to share their beauty tips and advice. I really love listening to this as Jessica and Jennifer are such fun to listen to and have a great sense of humour.
