Yardley London Jade

Yardley London is regarded as a long standing member of the English establishment having been around since the mid-seventeenth century, during the reign of King Charles 1. They are renowned for their luxury fragrances and soaps with lavender being their signature scent. Jade was released this summer and is part of the new contemporary fragrance collection that Yardley London have introduced. It is a retro-inspired fragrance that captures the spirit of the 60’s. It contains fruity, aromatic green top notes of peach, bergamot and galbanum blended with an airy floral bouquet heart of rose, jasmine, ylang-ylang and orris, ending with base notes of patchouli, sandalwood and moss.

This is a surprisingly pleasant fragrance that smells really fresh. Think of Ascot or a Greenwich Park picnic on a warm July day and you’d have judged the fragrance about right. The simple, round bottle with black letters looks very smart and I like the fact that it’s small enough to carry around in your handbag. As it’s eau de toilette and not perfume, the scent does fade slightly after a few hours, but as I say – as an everyday fragrance for your work bag, it’s ideal.

At just £19,99 for a 50ml bottle of eau de toilette, Jade certainly gives you a bang for your buck.
