Yardley London 1770

Earlier this year I attended an event for Yardley London where they revealed the launch of two new fragrances - Yardley 1770 and Yardley Hermina. Yardley London is an old heritage English brand that creates luxury fragrances and soaps. It is probably not a brand that you would gravitate to but it has undergone a bit of a rebranding in order to make themselves more relevant to a younger market. 1770 was when the brand was created so it is rather fitting that this fragrance pays homage to that as it is truly inspired by Yardley’s rich heritage. The top notes are citrus, fig and spicy black pepper with heart notes of floral, cocoa bean and woody heart and it is topped with a warm base of patchouli, vetiver, moss and musk.

I am not one for musky smells but there is something rather special about this fragrance. It has a gorgeous undertone and sets so well onto your skin. You don't have to worry about being left with a heavy and overbearing smell because 1770 just glides onto your skin leaving it feeling refreshed. The citrus works very well with the fig and wood and really creates the perfect balance between the heavy and light ingredients.

This fragrance is just like wine and gets better the longer you wear it. 1770 has a rocking 60s vibe about it which is reflected in the bottle that comes in the shape of a stylish yet warm bottle shaped like an oval.  It will make a great gift for that special guy in your life and of course you can pinch it once in a while.

Yardley London 1770 is priced at £19.99.
