What's In My Makeup Bag - Pelumi Rae

Pelumi Rae is one of the UK's top natural hair bloggers who shares her experiences at her popular blog, Care for your Hair. She started her blog as a way of documenting her hair journey for family and friends and has built up a huge following. At Curlvolution she will be hosting a workshop with Laila-Jean Washington from Fusion of Culture where she will be sharing her tips on how to create a successful blog. She took time out to show us the beauty products she carries in her makeup bag. Describe the items in your makeup bag. I only keep the items I use everyday in my makeup bag as my makeup drawer can be time consuming to search through in the mornings. In it I have the following products: MaryKay TimeWise Luminous-Wear Foundation which is my main foundation, black|Up Cosmetics Matifying Fluid Foundation, Benefit Cosmetics they're Real Mascara, Benefit Push Up Gel Liner, George (yes ASDA George lol) Satin Soft Eye Pencil (for my brows), NARS Blonde Venus Lipstick, Max Factor X Lipgloss in Pristine Nude, NYX Desert Rose Blush, NYX Lipliner in Coffee and NYX Lipliner in Toast.

I love my MaryKay Foundation. Since I was introduced to it over a year ago it's been my go-to. I used to use NARS as this was the only brand I found matched my tone perfectly, but at half the price without compromising on quality I get the same results from MaryKay. Those that know me also know I love a good mascara but right after that comes my nudes, browns and pink lip colours. As you can tell I like to keep things pretty simple and neutral.

Which is your favourite item in your makeup bag? My favourite item is undoubtedly my mascara - they're Real by Benefit Cosmetics. A little mascara changes everything.

Where did you get your makeup bag from? My makeup bag is a pink quilted bag by Philip Kingsley, originally it had hair products in but I use it for makeup. It's small enough to fit in my bag but big enough for all my essentials.
