What's In My Makeup Bag - Bianca Miller
Who can forget Bianca Miller's flawless performance on The Apprentice. Poised, assertive and competent, Bianca really did herself proud on the cut throat show which resulted in her becoming runner up. She also raised the profile of flesh coloured tights with her business proposal. Since then brands and media outlet have been falling over themselves to be affiliated with her. Aside from her business savvy stills, Bianca's style was also noted. She took time out to show us what's in her makeup bag. Describe the items in your make-up bag. The items of make-up that I use consist of foundation, blusher, mascara, lipstick and eyeshadow.
Foundation I have always loved MAC Studio Fix Powder, definitely a must for varied coverage. It is possible to do heavy coverage or a light dusting depending on what you are doing. I use colour C40. I have recently been introduced to Fashion Fair and I really like the Refining Mineral Foundation, I like to mix that with a little face cream if I just want to go for a light coverage. I think it will definitely be my go to product in the summer.
Contouring and Highlighting Since The Apprentice ended, I have learnt a bit more about contouring. There is something about seeing your face in HD on a large screen that makes you do more research. I still haven’t perfected it, but I am definitely a work in progress. I really like Skin Evolution by Kiko, it is a Concealer technically but it works really well for contouring, I just add it to the hollows of my cheeks and my temples and blend out. Again I do this before foundation. Then to add a little sparkle, I add a B. Sun Kissed Bronzing Powder afterwards - it is a brand in Superdrug, they have fabulous prices and often excellent products.
Highlight If I want to highlight or disguise an area I use MAC Pro Longwear Concealer, definitely good for when I have had a few too many late nights, which is all too common in my profession. This is also my base for highlighting and I blend this out so that is isn’t too obvious when I add my foundation. Once I have finished my foundation, I like to highlight the key areas with a mixture of Air and Golden Lights’ by Fashion Fair.
Blush I have been told off by a make-up artist who said I shouldn’t really be adding blush to the apples of my cheeks. But - hey I’m a free spirit and until I have perfected contouring, I will continue. I do like a little blush; I have tried various brands but my favourite by miles is still the blusher from Sleek called Sahara, just the right level of pink in my opinion.
Eyebrows I used to use powder but then I found the eyebrow kit by B.’Groomed (Superdrugs) in Dark Brown, it is two ended so one end has a wax for unruly brows and the other the coloured pencil. It stays all day and looks quite natural.
Mascara I have quite short curly lashes so I like a mascara that divides them but adds length and volume. At the moment I like Revlon’s Lash Potion or Bold Lacquer (the waterproof version) When I had individual lashes fitted by Agnes Dos Santos, I wasn’t allowed to use waterproof so I used Zoom Fast Black Lash by MAC.
Eyeshadow I am a bit of a collector of eyeshadows and I definitely go through phases but I would say my current top three are MAC Pigments. For intense evening looks, they are hard to beat. Sleek Palettes are amazing and I have most of them, they have such a fantastic range of colours. Avon has a small palette called True Colour Attraction, I love the bronze and greeny colour for my natural day look eyes with a little gel eyeliner to finish the look.
Lips As those who watched The Apprentice will know, I have a bit of a lipstick habit. To be honest, I am quite the all round girly girl and just love most things fashion and beauty but back to lips - I am red or nude lip girl.
It is hard to beat Kiko Unlimited Stylo number 6 for staying power. MAC Ruby Woo is always a popular option. I was recently introduced to LOLA, which is a relatively new brand and I must say their Cheeky Cherry is a lovely orangey red. I also love Christian Dior Rouge Dior 743 for a deeper rouge.
Much like tights, I find it hard to find an appropriate nude but I found Lace by Fashion Fair which is a good nude lipstick. I am a fan of Extra Volume Lipgloss from Kiko, which is a lovely nude. Also Ray of Sunshine Mineralize Glass from MAC.
Which is your favourite item in your make-up bag? It is really hard to choose one favourite item, but I would probably say mascara and gloss. On my down days that’s enough to make me feel good and presentable.
Where did you get your make-up bag from? So, I don’t have a make-up bag as such. I really don't carry make-up around unless I'm going away for a weekend or trip, otherwise I just bring my lipstick or lipgloss with me. I have a dressing table with drawers of make-up, nail varnish and hair products. Like I said I love all things fashion and beauty. I have had my dressing table since last summer; it was a surprise from my fiancé when I came out of The Apprentice. Then I realised I needed more light so I treated myself to a Hollywood mirror hehe.
