What's in My Make-Up Bag - Nola Marianna Ojomu
Nola Marianna Ojomu is a showbiz and entertainment journalist for The Daily Mail and she also blogs over at her self named website. She took time out to tell us what is in her make-up bag. Describe the items in your make-up bag. Thanks to my job, I’m always trying out new items and while this means my make-up bag is ever changing, I always make sure I have the same key items to create my look. Due to my oily skin tone, having a primer is a must. Benefit’s the POREfessional is always with me as I have a mini one in my handbag as well. Then I use the Mac Studio Fix Powder Plus Foundation followed by the Bobbi Brown Illumination Bronzing Powder in Bali Brown. If I actually want a glow, then I’ll put on a light amount of the Illamasqua GLEAM in Supernatural instead.
I use the Clinique Even Better Cream Foundation with SPF 15 in Golden as my concealer and then choose a shade from the Smashbox Hazel Eyes Palette if I want to draw attention to my eyes. Otherwise I would use something more bronze like the Clinique Chubby Stick in Fuller Fudge. I LOVE liquid eyeliner and the Estee Lauder Double Wear Zero Smudge in Black is great for a long day of work. The Miss Sporty Kohl Kajal Eye Pencil is still my favourite pencil liner and I shape my brows using the L’Oreal Superliner Brow Artist in Dark Brunette. Then I bring out my lashes with a mascara like the L’Oreal Mega Volume Miss Manga.
For my lips, I either go use the Chanel Rouge Allure lipstick in Farouche or the Shiseido Perfect Rouge Lipstick. If I’m in the mood for lip gloss then I use the Michael Kors Lip Luster in Icon. Lip balm is a must and I am beyond obsessed with EOS at the moment. I am a big fan of a more natural/bronzed look but I do use quite a few products to create that now I’ve listed it all down.
Which is your favourite item in your make-up bag? I could not imagine life without mascara, it’s the essential make up item that I can never leave the house without. At the moment it’s Miss Manga Mascara that is helping to make my lashes pop. I have naturally curly lashes so I’m always using mascaras that add length and volume. I’m also a fan of creating a ‘mascara cocktail’ so after applying two coats of the Miss Manga, I finish off with another coat of something like the Rimmel Volume Flash for added oomph. My favourite mascara brands are Eyeko, Rimmel and L’Oreal. They always make my eyelashes look amazing.
Where did you get your make-up bag? I have two main make up bags because I love to keep things in their packages and that tends to make it hard to fit it into a normal sized bag. I got my big clear make-up bag from a beauty sale at the Hearst UK offices, but my main bag is a pink faux snakeskin style from Elizabeth Arden that my mum gave me when I was a teenager. For some reason I just can’t let go of it... I’m rather sentimental like that.
