Smashbox Color Correcting Primer, Adjust

Smashbox have amongst their offerings, a wide range of primers which need no introduction. They do a lot of great products, but I find their primers the most iconic. This is just as well, because primers have never been as popular as they are today. In the past, the product has been a sort of hit-and-miss, but the recent few years have seen brands dramatically improving and adding primers to their ranges. Smashbox's primers are touted by many as some of the best that you can buy. I tried the Smashbox Colour Correcting Primer, Adjust, which is said to correct colour, reduce wrinkles and defy dark spots. There is a dual-aspect to the 'colour correcting' feature - not only does it counteract discolouration, but it also reduces redness too.

The green colour of the primer is what helps combat redness, since red and green are opposites. The sleek, practical tube makes for easy application and is portable-friendly. I wore it under concealer on some days, and under a combination of concealer plus foundation on others. The texture is lightweight, but you can definitely notice the silicone aspect.

It's probably due to the silicone that this product does an excellent job at smoothing fine lines for an almost photoshopped, flawless finish, creating a velvety base for makeup. My pores were slightly minimised. It does slightly even out skin discolouration, but does a very good job at concealing redness. Even if you blush very hard this colour-correcting primer is pretty nifty in making it hard to tell, since redness is reduced greatly.

The primer blends into skin clear, whilst retaining the benefits of being green. It has a semi-matte finish and increases the wear of my makeup quite well, in fact keeping it intact for about seven to eight hours, before natural oil started to peep through. Overall, I really like this primer and would recommend it, especially if you have problems with redness, or if you want to increase the longevity of your makeup.

Smashbox Photo Finish Primer is priced at £25.00
