Skinfix is a Canadian skincare company that focuses on creating ‘natural problem-solution’ products. Their skincare products are tailored to create radiant looking skin as well as hydrate the skin using at least 95% natural ingredients, including oils, vitamins and extracts from Aloe Leaf and Red Seaweed.
If you are looking for a skin cleanser that does not leave your skin feeling tight and stripped, then the Skinfix Foaming Oil Cleanser may be one for you to try. Skinfix describe this cleanser as a ‘luxurious creamy foam (that) washes away dirt and makeup with gentle coconut derived cleansers that won’t strip or dry out skin. Our Healthy Skin Lipid Complex compliments skin’s essential lipids and leaves it hydrated, soft and supple.’
The cleanser is 97% natural, as it contains Coconut Cleansers (for cleansing the skin), Sugar Beet (Betaine) that helps to keep the skin’s water balance and maintain moisture. It also contains Panthenol, which helps to bind water to the skin and helps the cells that create collagen, whilst the Jojoba Oil maintains the hydration in your skin.
Once you have finished cleansing, Skinfix recommend that you use the Moisture Boost Serum all over your face and neck, both morning and night. Skinfix claim that this ‘treatment instantly plumps skin and gives a hydrating boost with Red Seaweed Extract and our Healthy Skin Lipid Complex.’
This particular serum is 97.5% natural as it includes Red Seaweed Extract, which is rich in natural sodium hyaluronate used to retain moisture and keep the skin looking plump and dewy. It also contains Peony Root, which helps to protect and illumination the skins complexion due to its high levels of anti-oxidants, as well as Macadamia Oil which calms and nourishes the skin.
The final step in your skincare routine with Skinfix, is to use their Hydrating Lotion. This is said to be a ‘lightweight yet deeply hydrating lotion (that) is formulated with our Healthy Skin Lipid Complex that is clinically proven to improve the health of the skin barrier – boosting moisture and elasticity. Powerful natural botanicals and peptides work hard to hydrate, condition and protect skin. The result is plump, glowing and healthy skin, naturally’.
This lotion is 95% natural due to it including Rice Protein, which helps to strengthen the skin barrier function and stimulate cell renewal. It also contains Squalene a nutrient rich lipid derived from olive oil which mimics the skin’s own natural lipids to reinforce the skin barrier. Both of these ingredients are included, alongside Jojoba Oil, Red Seaweed Extract and Macadamia Oil.
After using all three products, I’ll have to agree with the claims Skinfix puts forward. The Foaming Oil Cleanser is evidently more gentle on my skin, than other cleansers I’ve used and it does leave my skin feeling quite soft. I feel that it works very well as a cleanser, and does remove most of my makeup residue, however I still feel the need to do a second cleanse after to ensure all is removed. I have combination / oily skin, but my skin can be quite dehydrated, so I really felt the hydration benefits of the cleanser. I felt that both the Moisture Boost Serum and the Hydrating Lotion left my skin appearing soft and plump, and when used at night before bed I woke up with a similar skin texture.
As I have combination/oily skin, I was a little concerned that this would make me even more dewy during the day, so I decided to only use the products at night. I’d say that these products would work best for dehydrated skin types as well as those who have normal to dry skin. If you have very oily skin, you may want to only use this as part of your night time routine.
Skinfix Foaming Oil Cleanser is priced at £11.99, Moisture Boost Serum is £19.99 and Hydrating Lotion is £14,99. The collection is available from Boots.
