Shop Skincare Beauty Box
Shop Skincare is a brand created by ‘a team of like-minded beauty lovers, with a long combined experience in the cosmetics industry’. They offer beauty products on their website but with the unique selling point of providing a free beauty box on all orders over £40. I received one of their beauty boxes to try, and was pleased to discover full and deluxe sized samples inside, instead of sachets or mini samples.
The first product I tried was Ultrasun’s Face Anti-Age and Anti-Pigmentation SPF50+, which is a sun protection product with anti-ageing and anti-pigmentation properties, designed to be suitable for ultra sensitive skin. This sun protection product is unlike most on the market, since most sun screens with a high protection factor can feel quite heavy, but this one absorbs very quickly into the skin and is lightweight and non-greasy. Also Ultrasun’s unique anti-pigmentation property means that the appearance of strong pigmentation is reduced after continued use, meaning that the use of this sun protection spectrum has long term benefits as well as immediate moisture and protection benefits.
Also, the beauty box included A’kin’s Pure Radiance Rosehip Oil. Rosehip Oil is a favourite amongst many celebrities, supermodels and royals, so is a keen addition to any skincare regime. This oil in particular is unique in the sense that its ‘highly concentrated’ seeds are extracted via a ‘super-critical’ process for the best results. It has a smooth, medium consistency and is easily absorbed into the skin, ensuring that the skin doesn’t feel greasy or sticky after application. The oil provides a high level of moisture and adds a bout of radiance to the complexion, for a natural glow that looks more effective than the use of highlighting makeup products.
Lastly is my favourite product of the three (although it was hard to pick a favourite). Lord and Berry’s Vogue Lipstick came in the form of a full-sized product, in shade Cupid. Their Vogue Lipstick is one with a demi matte finish, which is mostly matte with the slightest hint of sheen in its finish. This ensures that your lips still look three dimensional rather than dull and flat. The consistency is medium and not too heavy, with a full level of coverage and pigmentation. It wears for several hours without fading or transferring to the teeth. Shade Cupid is a blue toned, dark red that is universally flattering and an essential in any lipstick wardrobe.
Overall, Shop Skincare’s Beauty Box is notably different to others offered on the market, and I think most would agree that the idea of fewer, carefully selected full and deluxe sized products is more effective than a multitude of sachets.
