Salon A.B.V Hair & Beauty

I met Abbey, the founder of Salon A.B.V Hair & Beauty at Keziah CONNECTIONS last month, it is a Dartford based salon which handles European, Afro-Caribbean, Asian or Mixed Race hair. This is very handy because despite having lived in Kent for quite some time I am yet to find a decent local hairdresser. I booked a hair treatment, as I had taken my hair out of braids I decided that my hair need some extra TLC. I normally dye my hair black to get rid of the greys but I was not sure if I would add this in as well. Salon A.B.V. is situated off the High Street in Dartford and it is stylishly decorated but cosy at the same time. My appointment was at 2pm and as well as getting a call to confirm the day before I was seen to straight away. No waiting around because the stylist was running late or because the salon had overbooked. I explained my concerns about dying my hair to Abbey and she took them onboard and used a gentle hair dye.

She applied the dye first, using L'Oreal Professional INOA and waited for it to set. Then she washed it out and then shampooed my hair and conditioned it with the Design Essentials Moisture Retention Shampoo followed by the Stimulations Supper Moisturising Conditioner. I was placed under the steam for 30 minutes and then my hair was washed and then blowdried and finished with Hydrience Argan Oil/Creme.

The whole process was enjoyable - I did not feel like I had gone through ten rounds with Mike Tyson after I left the salon. The staff were very attentive and friendly - everything went to plan - no long waits during the treatment while she attended to another customer's hair. I was even offered beverages. Plus they take debit cards! Score! No trips to the cashpoint.

Salon A.B.V Hair & Beauty is based at 79 Lowfield Street, Dartford, Kent DA1 1HP.
