Rita Hazan Haircare

I didn’t know anything about the Rita Hazan haircare collection until I got hold of her new range for coloured hair. I was intrigued to try anything created by the colorist/artist/innovator to celebrities like Beyonce and Jennifer Lopez.  Rita Hazan products are specially designed for colored hair and addressing the spectrum of women’s hair color needs, Rita has established herself as “The Hair Color Authority." I trialled three products from the range, loved them.

The first things that struck me about Rita Hazan’s haircare was the packaging. It is simple in its design but big on impact with a majestic colour combination of green, gold and black colour. It’s unlikely to be missed on a shelf.

The second thing that caught me was the fragrance. I can’t quite place it. It’s a heady floral smell similar to jasmine but not overpowering. Moringa is one of the key ingredients in the range but I’ve never smelt that so I can’t compare. I couldn’t find see any other identifiable listed ingredient that would give it the smell. No matter, I luv it. I trialled; the True Color ShampooTrue Color Conditioner and the Weekly Remedy Treatment (Treat It & Seal It).

I used the Shampoo prior to the weekly treatment, and on occasion before the conditioner. It’s amazing. Although the website says hair will be squeaky clean, fear not, it’s not the crunchy clean you get with sulphate shampoos. My hair felt clean, very soft and springy. The products do not have sulfate, sodium chloride or paraben. Rita uses coconut, corn and vegetable derived cleansers which remove dirt without stripping the hair.

The Weekly Remedy Treatment was a treat for my bleached hair. The directions states no processing time required rise immediately. It worked quickly. The consistency was cream with enough slip to detangle hair. After the products were rinsed off my hair felt soft and hydrated with good elasticity. I followed up with my usual styling products. Because my hair was in such good condition after the treatment it responded well to the styling products. In contrast, the conditioner had to be left in for two minutes before rinsing. Here again I had wonderful results. These products should work on any hair type. In more ways than one it was a real treat using the range.

Rita Hazan True Color Shampoo and the True Colour Conditioner are priced at £21.00 each and the Weekly Remedy Treatment is priced at £34.00.
