Palmer’s Manuka Formula Hair Range
Palmer’s haircare range has been around for a year, the Manuka Flower Formula with vitamin E, the natural Manuka Flower Honey is harvested directly from New Zealand. Honey is a natural humectant, which helps to retain and preserve moisture, it is also anti-bacterial, thereby nourishing and protecting the hair and scalp. In addition to Manuka Honey the range also consists of Cocoa Butter, Shea Butter and Amla Oil, which has a blend of essential fatty acids, vitamin c, protein and minerals.
The protein is hydrolyzed keratin, meaning the molecules have been made smaller so they can actually penetrate the hair shaft, so this range is protein and moisture based. The full collection consists of a strengthening shampoo, nourishing conditioner, leave-in conditioner, leave-in conditioning cream and a finishing hair oil.
I received the shampoo, leave-in conditioner spray and cream. The Manuka Flower Honey Strengthening Shampoo is sulfate free, it’s a creamy shampoo that produces a gentle lather, it leaves my hair feeling clean but not stripped and smells gorgeous. The Leave-in Conditioner spray contains the same above ingredients, it helps to detangle and fight frizz. It has the same great scent as the shampoo, the spray nozzle distributes product really well, and the product is quick and easy to use. The Leave-in Conditioning Cream is a heavier version of the spray, it nourishes, defines and repairs dry damaged hair.
Both leave-in products also contain Silk Amino Acids, another protein, but this also has excellent moisture preservation properties. With both leave-in options I would use a very light hand, if you are heavy handed like myself you could easily end up weighing down your hair and overloading it with product, a small amount goes a long way. The entire range is sulfate, paraben, phthalate and dye free, it’s recommended for all natural textures and is safe to use on coloured hair.
Prices start from about £5.99 and is available from Superdrug and Feelunique.
