OGX Quenching+Coconut Curls Shampoo and Conditioner

They say never judge a book by its cover. After using OGX Quenching +Coconut Curls range, I think the same can be said about haircare. OGX has been around for several years. I first noticed the brand when I was searching for Argan oil hair products. Although my sister swears by it I was a bit judgy. Would their products work on my curls? After all, my sister has a looser curl pattern to mine. I was sent OGX Quenching+Coconut Curls Shampoo and Conditioner to trial for the purpose of this review; frankly it’s won me over.

After two weeks of co-washes, I was ready for a cleansing shampoo so I used the one from this collection. I applied the product to my wet hair, the consistency was extremely creamy, like a co-wash. It created a great deal of lather but didn’t make my hair feel stripped. After rinsing it out, my hair felt clean and springy.

I applied the conditioner to my towel dried hair and I found the consistency to be similar to the shampoo. My hair was very tangled, so I left it in for two minutes. I detangled my hair, after the product was partially rinsed out. When my hair was tangle free I rinsed out the remaining product.

To style, I used the frizz-defying Curl Styling Milk and finished off with an organic oil. Then, I allowed my hair to air dry. The range has a mild coconutty-citrus fragrance which sounds strange but it’s pleasant. The ingredients include coconut oil, sweet honey, and citrus oil.

Once dry my hair had gorgeous volume; the curls were well defined and frizz free. On the third morning of my wash n go I only needed to apply a little water and the Curl Styling Milk to refresh my flattened curls. My hair still felt amazingly soft and bouncy.

(Side note I also tried I full range on my daughter’s type two to three hair. It made her hair unbelievable soft, silky and shiny.)

OGX can be found at Savers, Boots and Superdrugs, I would recommend it as an affordable easy to find range that’s curl friendly.

OGX Quenching+Coconut Curls Shampoo and Conditioner are priced at £6.99 each.
