Neostrata Skin Active Tri-Therapy Lifting Serum
When it comes to clinically backed skincare, Neostrata is one of those brands that can confidently make that claim. The brand is very popular with therapists, editors and consumers alike, Neostrata pioneered the use of skincare acids like AHA’s that we have all come to know and love. Neostrata Skin Active Tri-Therapy Lifting Serum is part of the skin active range which is formulated to target all visible signs of ageing.
The serum has been formulated with highly active ingredients - Aminofil which is Neostrata’s patented amino acid complex to help plump the skin, PHA for antioxidant protection and skin tone renewal and low molecular weight hyaluronic acid for deep hydration. They promise three solutions; skin tone renewal, slack skin and smooth skin with one serum. The serum is made without alcohols, oils and parabens.
I used this product twice daily after cleansing and toning, and the serum lasted a little over one month. It is a very light textured serum with the consistency of a light lotion, and with a pleasant scent. It sinked into my skin and absorbed very quickly with no oily residue left over. It dried fairly quickly and left my skin slightly tacky to touch. This serum pairs very well with other creams and serums and I did not experience any ‘piling’ with layering it with other skincare products. Plus I experienced no irritation with this product.
In regarding to the claims of the serums, it adds long lasting hydration to my skin and I especially loved to use it in the mornings as it also reduces oxidative damage. It also adds an instant luminosity to my skin. I also really liked how the serum feels on my skin, which was very smooth and almost velvety like a silicone based primer. In the month I used this serum, I have seen my skin look more radiant and healthier overall. Whilst I did not see a reduction in my hyper-pigmented spots, my skin overall looks brighter and feels very smooth and looks plump.
I also used the serum on my neck and I have seen improvements in my skin tone. My neck is darker than my face and whilst the improvement isn’t dramatic, my skin looks brighter and feels smoother. Even though the serum contains an acid - Gluconolactone which is a PHA for chemical exfoliation and skin tone renewal - it feels extremely gentle on my skin and I suspect this is the main ingredient that helped to smooth it. Overall I was very impressed with the texture of the serum but more so how radiant it has left my skin and how well it pairs with other products.
As lovely as this product is, I cannot put my hand on my heart and say it is worth the whooping price of £79.00. I would say more like £50.00 to £60.00.
Neostrata Skin Active Tri-Therapy Lifting Serum is priced at £79.00.
