Welcome to My Shelfie where once a week each member of brownbeauty will show you all the gems on their bathroom shelf. This week’s Shelfie interrogation is our makeup girl about town, Anna Durston. My bathroom shelves are made up of mostly practical products with a few luxury items.

Top shelf:

Voltaren Gel As a makeup artist and hairdresser, carrying lots of heavy bags and a day full of blow drys can leave your joints aching.

Neal’s Yard Bach Flower Essence Blend For when work, home, children and husband get too much. This was a birthday present from a close friend who knows how it is.

Hayfever Tablets: 4/5 of us suffer with hayfever and cat allergies.

Elemis Pro-Radiance Illuminating Flash Balm This product is used at times when my skin looks sallow and need a little pick me up.

Boots Eye Makeup Remover I have tried loads of makeup removers in my time and I just don’t like the oily ones. This is a gentle cream that does the job. I use this every night to remove my gel eyeliner.

Middle Shelf

Spare Toothbrush and Razor Just in case, and for in between waxing.

Neom Organics Lavender, Jasmine & Brazilian Rosewood Scented Candle This is for those relaxing baths you get to have once in while. This product is from a wonderful beauty emporium called Dr Boo in East Dulwich.

Vaseline Intensive Care Cocoa Butter I stumbled across this in the summer when Sainsbury’s had it on special offer. It's sooo good and I use it every day. It makes my skin really soft.

Origins Ginger Souffle Whipped Body Cream This was part of a birthday present. I use it when I’m going somewhere important or a night out when I want to smell all gingery (this is my favourite smell, I have the perfume too)

Cotton Buds This is always a must. To clean up makeup and nail varnish bloops etc...

Boots Soltan Once Face Sun Cream I found this in the summer when I needed to be able to put some sun cream on and not have to think about doing it again. Being with three children in the summer holidays or working outside on set is busy work. It lasts eight hours is 30 SPF. My face really catches the sun especially my nose so I need a fairly high SPF. Its really moisturising and is water resistant.

Husband’s corner

Gillette Gel and Razor I usually get him all his moisturisers etc but he chose this all on his own (Ahh, bless). He prefers a gel and is finally admitting he needs a bit more help in the skincare department.

Sainsbury’s Dental Floss He’s always been a stickler for flossing.

Boots Derma Care Emollient Bath Oil My husband and a couple of my children suffer from eczema and really dry skin so at least once a week the have a bath in this.

Aveeno Lotion with Natural Colloidial Oatmeal A recent purchase recommended by our local chemist for my daughter who has a couple of eczema patches. It has naturally active Colloidal Oatmeal which is great for eczema. She uses it morning and evening and so far is working a treat.

L’Oreal Kids Shampoo For as long as they have needed shampoo (eldest is 10) I have always used this. I love the smell. If I smell cherry almond it instantly reminds me of my children. They have to tell me to stop sniffing their heads.

Covonia Throat Spray It feels like I don’t have time to have colds and sore throats. At the first sign of a sore throat five sprays of this usually sorts it out. Its antibacterial and antiseptic numbs pain/fights infection. I came across this a few years ago when two of my children had not yet started school and I just needed to keep going. God bless pharmacists.

Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Deep Hair Treatment Luscious Long I’ve been using Aussie conditioners on my daughter's hair for a few years now and they suit her curly but fine hair really well. Like me she only needs to wash her hair once a week.

Original Source Skin Quench. Pineapple and Coconut Oil As most of us in this family suffer from dry skin I thought I’d try this new product I saw at the supermarket one day while browsing. Husband verdict was that it made a difference, so this is the second bottle.

No7 Total Renewal Micro Dermabrasion Exfolliator I remember beauty expert, Liz Earle saying how important it was to exfoliate. So one Fathers Day a couple of years ago.I was buying some men’s bits from No7 when there was a special offer to get a free product and I chose this. I have been using it ever since and it keeps my skin feeling new and fresh.

Origins Ginger Burst Savoury Body Wash I bought this as part of a set for my birthday last November, it makes me all gingery when used with the body cream and perfume.

Quinoderm 5% Cream When I turned a certain milestone ago, I suddenly started to get spots around the time of my period. It really bothered me so I Googled it and found a couple of sites with links to forums. Quite a few ladies recommended this so I ordered it at my local chemist.

Boots Nail Polish Remover I hate chipped nail polish so it has to be removed completely asap if there is a chip that can’t be repaired.

Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Wild Ginger Styling Treatment Oil This was sent to me from Paul Mitchell last week for a shoot, but already I’m in love with it. It worked a treat on the ladies and kept my tonged hair smooth and going for a couple of days.

Phyto Crème Brilliance Glossing Cream I use this on my damp and dry hair and at work after I’ve straightened or tonged it. I was given this by a PR and have been using it for the last year.

Paul Mitchell Curls Full Circle Leave-in Treatment This is fantastic as it really goes inside the hair and tames the frizz. I have been using the whole curl range for about a year and a half. I am always looking out for good curl products. I really like this range.

Paul Mitchell Curls Spring Loaded Frizz Fighting Shampoo and Conditioner This does what it says on the bottle.
