Merumaya Melting Cleansing Balm

It is a well-known fact that cleansing balms are one of my all-time favourite skincare products. I am also a huge fan of female bosses in the beauty industry and Maleka Dattu is a #brownbeauty that turned her years of experience and expertise into the brand Merumaya. The Merumaya Melting Cleansing Balm is in a tube not a tub. Don’t underestimate this product however it is not a halfway house between an oil and a balm. This is a balm in the true sense of the word, the the perfect texture for squeezing out of the tube and into the palm of your hands. It makes the process more hygienic as you are not putting your hand into the tub to take out product.

The texture is very smooth and the looser texture means that there is no need to warm it up in your hands. Slap it straight onto the face and start your facial massage. Take it from your hairline to your colour bone. This is brilliant for taking off makeup. Enough slip for you get get into all the nooks and crannie on your face and definitely the first stage of a double cleanse routine. You can remove your eye make up with it but I use a separate product for that.

Don’t try to emulsify it with water, just get run a flannel under warm water and take it off. You are left with skin that is smooth and clarified and ready for your second cleanser. The fragrance is a cross between a soap and a clean perfume.

It has beautiful skin loving ingredients – sweet almond oil, omega 3 and 6 from the echium oil and antioxidants from the mangosteen extract so you are doing your skin good whilst removing your makeup. Definitely a unisex product and one for you go try if you think that a cleansing balm is a step too far. If you are a #cleanseaholic like I am this is definitely one to try.

Merumaya Melting Cleansing Balm is available to buy from selected John Lewis stores and also from QVC.
