MeMeMe Create the Look Collection - Smokey
My makeup looks are always very simple. I use a bit of the Sleek BB Cream, draw my eyebrows using the MAC Brow Pencil in Stud and then lightly contour. When it comes to my eyes, I only stretch as far as a coat of mascara - two on special occasions. Eye shadows are not my thing, mainly because I wear glasses but also because I feel they make me look funny. Should you ever find me wearing eye makeup then it will most likely be a smoky eye look. Hence why, when the MeMeMe Create the Look Collection - Smokey landed on my desk, I was willing to give it ago. MeMeMe is an affordable brand that has been around for a few years - to my surprise - their smokey eye kit is a recent addition to their range. Complete with a trio eye shadow, mascara, kohl liner and liquid eye liner the set can be used for a full eye look.
The kit works well for a novice like myself and the website provides a step by step guide to creating a suitable look. However, as a dark skinned lady, I was disappointed by the lack of pigmentation. The black shade in the trio shadow looked more like grey on my skin. The other two were more pigmented but I'm afraid this is due to their shimmery finish. Also, after a while they just fade away. Unfortunately, there was no shade names on the actual product so I cannot provide the names.
My favourite product in the collection was hands down the Liquid Eye Liner aka Eye Sweep Precision Eye Definer. They knew exactly what they were doing when they added the word precision to the name. This tip is thin and creates an error-free long lasting line. As mentioned above my eye makeup is very simple but this eye liner has made creating cat eyes so simple that I'v now added it to my daily routine.
Though the staying power of the Eye Line Pencil in Coal was weak, I'd say it works well for creating a smokey eye. The pencil in very soft and glides across with ease. As part of their entire range, MeMeMe Cosmetics offer three mascaras and Dark and Divine was included in this kit with the purpose of adding volume not length. I would only recommend this kit to someone who is new to wearing makeup or someone young. The four piece set gives you a chance to learn more before breaking the bank investing in pricier products.
Individually, all of the products will cost £24.90 so buying them as part of the create the look collection is saving a fare bit.
MeMeMe Create the Look Collection - Smokey is priced at £17.50.
