Mary Kay Foundation Primer SPF
Mary Kay is a brand that has been around for some time now and I am finally happy I got to try out some of the amazing products. I have been testing out the Mary Kay Foundation Primer SPF for a few weeks out and I must say I was quite impressed.
The Mary Kay Foundation Primer has SPF 15 which I absolutely love. A lot of people tend to skip SPF or don’t realise its importance so for it to be added to a primer is a big deal. This stands out to me as I have come across a lot of primers with SPF. The SPF itself doesn’t cause any flashbacks in my pictures either. The primer is also oil-free which makes it great for oily skin types and fragrance free if you don’t take too well to heavily perfumed makeup.
I really like the texture of the primer too, it's silicone based and leaves a nice smooth canvas for you to work on. I haven’t experienced any irritation or breakouts from using it nor has it clogged my pores. I do wish the primer had a slightly thicker consistency, it’s not runny, it feels light on the skin and doesn’t add any colour, which I am thankful for. The lighter consistency means it doesn’t do much for covering pores - and I don’t have really large pores. It's very easy to work with though, I can blend my foundation really easily on top of this compared to other primers.
In terms of helping my makeup last a bit longer, I feel like it helps but I also follow up with powder and a setting spray. I have to comment on the packaging, simple but effective and I love the pointed application which makes it easier to use and control the amount that comes out.
I would say this primer is great for everyday wear. It holds up well and helps my makeup last all day. It’s also great for all skin types but I would recommend it for normal to combo skin types. It doesn’t do a great job of minimising pores so if you have large ones, you may have to use another primer to minimise them.
Mary Kay Foundation Primer SPF is priced at £16.00.
