MAC Cosmetics have released their Trend Forecast Spring/ 2016 Collection for Fall 2015. There’s usually a lot of anticipation with MAC’s Trend Forecast Palettes, since they incorporate colour trends straight from the runway for the upcoming season. In this case, MAC have made accessible the colour trends of SS16 in limited edition lip and eye palettes. The Trend Forecast Spring 16 Eye Palette brings together six cream shadows, each shade being far from what is usual or routine, collectively creating an essentially haute palette. The shade names reflect this same idea. Back in the Swing is an orange peach with gold pearl, On My Watchlist is a cool grey silver with silver pearl, The In Thing is a pink berry with a bluish silver pearl, About to Sprout is a matte warm olive-green, A New Brew is a rich matte terracotta red-brown and Coming Into Season is a deep matte fuchsia. About to Sprout is particularly befitting with the khaki that has been dominating the runway recently. The cream shadows have a super soft formula that is easy to blend, with a high level of pigment. These shades have a long-lasting ability and don’t necessarily require the use of an eyeshadow primer beforehand.

The Trend Forecast Spring 16 Lip Palette includes six Casual Colour shades, some of which are highly desirable for Fall. The Casual Colour formula is rich and hydrating, however require the use of a lip brush for application due to the palette format. Bonjour is a spring Sheer pale peach with silver pearl, Orange You Haute is a sheer bright orange-coral, Tomato, Tomahto is a vibrant coral-based red, My Little Lavender is a silver frosted pale lavender, Favourite Fad is a muted creamy lilac-pink and Seen Around Town is a deep burgundy wine.

There are some very wearable shades such as Tomato, Tomahto - a postbox red- and then there’s the more unusual shades such as My Little Lavender, however I’ve been making the most use of Favourite Fad which is perfect for the daytime during Winter, and Seen Around Town, which is ideal for chilly evenings.

As usual, MAC do not disappoint with their Trend Forecast Palettes and have presented an interesting and unique array of shades to help us keep ahead of movements in the beauty industry.
