MAC Cosmetics Versicolour Varnish Cream Lip Stain
MAC Cosmetics has long been a go to brand for brownbeauties for many years. They are known for having foundations to fit a board spectrum of complexions, as well as eye shadows that flatter our eyes. If you are a brownbeauty who loves a red lip, you probably have a Ruby Woo lipstick in your makeup arsenal. I’ve always been a LipGlass girl, myself - well till MAC Cosmetics Versicolour Varnish Cream Lip Stain came along.
The USP for the Cream Lip Stain is that it’s a glossy hybrid lip colour with a watery-light formula that imparts long-wearing, saturated full coverage.’ There are 14 shades available and I was sent three shades to trial; Serial Stain, which is a red wine shade, Crushing It, a pale peachy pink and To The Extreme, which is a sexy bold red with an orangey hue.
The product has a doe foot applicator which allows for precision application. The formula has a gorgeous smooth creamy consistency which glided on with ease. It felt very comfortable and moisturising. Although MAC says stains can dry lips over time, they advise pre-treating lips with a balm or primer before applying the stain. I am prone to dry lips anyway, so, I always apply a balm before any lip cosmetics.
After two hours the shine and colour of Serial Stain was just as when I applied it. After five hours during which I’d had a meal, the shine gloss was gone but the vibrancy of the colour was still there. Amazing! While Crushing It would be more noticeable on a pale lip, on mine it was more like a nude lip gloss which was cute for daily use.
The shades of the Varnish Cream Lip Stains can all take you from day into night, all year round. Of the three shades which I trialled, To The Extreme was my favourite. For longer wear and definition use a lip pencil to line the lip.
MAC Cosmetics Versicolour Varnish Cream Lip Stains are priced at £21.00 each.
