L.O.G. Cosmetics Nail Polish
I got to review two of the L.O.G. Cosmetics Nail Polish in the shades, Pinky Swear and I Have A Dream. The vegan friendly nail polishes are 5 free which means it is a “non-toxic” products and does not include the ingredients DBP, Formaldehyde, Formaldehyde Resin, Camphor and Toluene.
Research has found that the skin around our nails is very absorbent and means the harmful toxins sink into our bodies and could have some health efforts on us and even unborn babies. I’d never really paid attention to the ingredients of nail polish but the fact this is five free instantly made me feel like I was doing my body good by using it.
The brand promises the polishes will still provide long-lasting shiny colour which will not chip or crack. I first tried the shade Pinky Swear which is a light and vibrant pink which looks best when you apply at least three coats.
I Have A Dream is a very deep, dark purple shade which becomes darker with each coat and almost becomes black when photographed. However, you can see it is dark purple a bit more in real life.
I first applied them without a top coat to see how long they last and I found they were just as good as the standard nail polishes I have used in the past. While it does chip quickly, it is only at the tip and I felt it lasted really well for about a week before I felt the need to add another coat.
I would suggest using a trusted top coat in order to add shine and avoid chipping but this is a nail polish that holds its own against some of the drugstore favourites some people swear by. The enamels are available in 12 different shades and have not been tested on animals.
Overall I think this is a great option for those who want to avoid toxins in their makeup and the fact it is the same price as regular nail polish means you aren’t being punished for your decision.
The formula isn’t as dense in colour as normal nail polishes but you can still achieve the desired effect by adding a few more coat then you might normally use.
L.O.G. Cosmetics Nail Polish is priced at £6.00.
