L.O.G. Cosmetics High Definition Powder Foundation

L.O.G. Cosmetics is the brain child of a makeup artist and certified organic skin care formulator who uses natural oils, fruit extracts and other health conscious ingredients to create high quality natural cosmetics for all women. The brand has a range of mineral makeup and hair care products made from 100% natural ingredients, which aims to help women of colour find a healthy way of beauty.

I got to try out their High Definition Powder Foundation which claims to be good for your skin as well as providing light-medium buildable coverage. It is suitable for all skin tones and the ingredients lists includes all natural items such as organic arrowroot, organic rice powder and organic green tea.

They say that you are guaranteed to see improvements in the appearance, feel and quality of your skin with continuous use of the powder thanks to the green tea. And it’s free from Bismuth oxychloride which is an ingredient many people are starting to question in the makeup world at the moment.

I found it was easy to build a decent amount of coverage with the powder – I used the shade Dawn -  but it was not strong enough to cover acne scars or dark marks. I think this powder is great for daily wear, giving the skin a nice even tone that looks really natural.

It is non-comedogenic which is essential for those like myself who have oily skin and it is also claimed to absorb excess oil from your face. I found it was a great powder that seemed to hold off the oil and shine and bit more than product I usually use.

The powder is available in eight shades and this means it can work as both a foundation powder and a setting powder. Naturally, it is best to apply with a powder brush and I used several different brushes and found it applied well with each one.

Like with any powder, I needed to have a little top up after a full day of work before heading out for the evening. But I definitely feel this product holds its own compared to other light-medium coverage powders on the market, though it had a slightly reddish undertone which doesn’t quite suit my skin.

It is quite a small pot containing 20g of product which makes it very handbag friendly. This is one of the many vegan friendly items from the brand and I think this is a great powder for those who struggles to find ethical beauty products for Women of Colour. With this powder, you don’t have to sacrifice good coverage for your beliefs.
