Joliette Curl Me Soft

A few weeks ago we featured Alicia Thornthwaite, co-founder of AfroDeity where she told us about her new brand, Joliette, which consists of all natural Caribbean inspired products. I was given a sample of Joliette Curl Me Soft which consists of light Shea Butter and Aloe Vera, whipped into a conditioning cream and fragranced with fruit extracts, to give definition, smooth out curls and tame frizz. I have the scent Caribbean Berry and it smells divine, directions on the AfroDeity website state to apply it to just washed, towel dried hair and style. But you can also use it on dry hair to moisturise in between washes. It adds moisture to the hair without weighing it down and using all natural ingredients; Aloe Vera gel to promote hair growth, reduce dandruff and condition. Organic Shea Butter conditions and protects hair, reducing breakage and soothes a dry itchy scalp. Castor oil promotes hair growth, adds shine and improves scalp circulation. Green tea extract stimulates hair growth, strengthens and condition and fruit extracts, raspberry and pomegranate.

I found the product alone wasn’t quite as moisturising I would like on my thick kinky hair, and with such a small tub, I required quite a lot to feel my hair was fully covered. However if you have fine hair that gets weighed down easily I couldn’t recommend this product enough. I will continue to use this, but in conjunction with other moisturising products, I think it would be great if you regularly do twist outs to give great curl and tame frizz.

Joliette Curl Me Soft is priced at £14 for 60ml and is available from their website.
