Janet's List Has Launched a Pop Up Shop

Janet’s List has launched a pop up shop featuring new and niche brands by Women of Colour (WoC). Janet’s List is an e-tailor that enables people to discover and buy from independent and niche beauty, fashion, lifestyle and home brands. The website features beauty brands such as Flora & Curl, NYLAH, EQUI Botanics, Jim + Henry, Kuki’s Natural and The Soap Connoisseur.

The aim of the pop up is to connect consumers with brownbeauty brands in a space where they can discover new products for themselves and as a gift, just in time for the Christmas period. At the pop up you will be treated to a beautiful concept and retail space, and you will be able to talk to the brand owners while checking out their latest collection.

Janet’s List was founded by Janet Oganah, a former barrister who is passionate about intelligent, collaborative and creative work that transforms people's lives. Whilst on a working sabbatical, a creative opportunity changed her career path and thus lead to the creation of the website.

One of the hurdles faced by WoC in business is the lack of mainstream visibility, particularly opportunities to get to bricks and mortar retail. Creating a beauty brand is one thing but most independent WoC businesses find that getting a physical retail space is somewhat out of reach. Considering that retail brands make 70% of their profits during the Christmas period then gaining exposure during the festive gifting period is crucial.

Janet’s List Pop Up is open to 16th December at 103 Redchurch Street. London. E2 7DL.
