Garnier Moisture Bomb 3 in 1 Day Cream SPF 10
Garnier has to be one of my favourite drugstore brands. They usually have great products at bargain friendly prices and they are readily available and accessible. The Moisture Bomb Collection has been made for dry dehydrated skin and was released last year. There are five main products in the collection including Garnier Moisture Bomb 3 in 1 Day Cream with SPF 10.
The Day Cream claims to hydrate up to three layers of skin, provide UV protection and smoothes the skin. In it you have pomegranate & alma (antioxidant properties) as well as hyaluronic acid for known for its excellent hydration properties. They have also added more antioxidant vitamins and fruit extracts to protect the skin from oxidative stress.
I have been using the Day Cream for the last month, every morning applying one full pump on my face and neck. The cream has a luxurious rich feel and feels lightweight on the skin. It sinks into the skin fairly quickly and doesn’t clog pores. The scent is unremarkable: just a light fragrance.
Unfortunately I did not enjoy using the Garnier Moisture Bomb Day Cream. There are instant results I get with the cream: instant hydration and softness but that’s just about it. After about three to four hours of wear, I noticed my skin feels and looks dry. This leads me to believe the moisture it provides is just superficial although it claims to hydrate up to three layers of skin.
Another letdown for me is the low SPF. I can understand why they would only add SPF 10 as they included antioxidants which protect the skin from oxidative stress and external aggressors such as pollution. I hardly think it’s enough protection to be added to a low SPF of 10.
I had really high hopes for the Garnier Moisture Bomb Day Cream but I was let down. I didn’t think it provided enough moisture for my skin and what it did provide was very short lived.
I understand they tried to compensate with a low SPF of 10 with antioxidants however only a good amount/mixture of different antioxidants offer some protection against UV but again I think the day cream lacks in this.
I know they state they added other antioxidants and fruit extracts but there is no mention of how much or what they actually are. I won’t readily recommend this for dry skin as I don’t think it provides enough moisture but for oily skin it could work as it’s a lightweight cream with no oily residue. I will definitely recommend using additional SPF if you use this, especially in the warmer months.
Garnier Moisture Bomb 3 in 1 Day Cream SPF 10 is priced at £7.99.
