Fashion Fair Naughty Collection
Fashion Fair have produced a striking gift set for the holiday season- the limited edition Naughty Collection. The metallic case contains an eyeshadow quad, lipstick and lip gloss of enigmatic shades that stand out from the conventional hues of contra holiday collections I’ve seen so far this year. The eyeshadow quad, in shade Indulge, holds 9.2g of eyeshadow in a sturdy, mirrored compact. I love the shiny dark chocolate lid which emanates quality when paired with embossed silver lettering and golden interior. It is quite heavy to handle and doesn’t feel flimsy. I usually don’t like applicators and tend to ignore them, however these ones aren’t too bad. This palette is the right size to travel with and would be a stylish addition to your handbag.
The actual shades are great too. It contains Dark Purple, Lilac, Rosy Tan and French Navy. They offer a slightly metallic Sheen, something that was widely seen on the runways for Autumn 2014. This palette is great because you can create day or evening looks, and the shades offer you a chance to experiment with shades you might not usually try. This is true for me with Lilac and Dark Purple, the latter of which has become my favourite as it creates a smokey look well.
I’m also keen on Deep Navy as it’s a lovely cool-toned blue that will compliment a lot of my Autumn outfits. Lilac and Rosy Tan exude a more delicate look. However Lilac doesn’t apply quite as well as the other shades, which are extremely pigmented. I tested each shade out over an eight hour period and there was only a tiny bit of fading.
The purple theme is also incorporated into the lipstick, in shade Naughty, a sensuous plum. Plums and purples are suited to and are popular in the holiday season, as they coincide with the darker weather of the season. As you can see on the swatch to below, one swipe presents a satisfying opacity. Two swipes or more, seen on the middle swatch, create another dimension to the appearance and bestow an appealing stained look.
The creamy, smooth, hydrated finish is attractive too. It has a nice sheen. Naughty certainly lives up to its name in the bold aura it generates - it is a strong-willed shade. The Lip Teaser in shade Tease is the finishing touch to the collection and ties in suitably. It’s a subtle glittery pink - almost an oyster pink. It is slightly sticky. However it does add another touch when applied on top of the Naughty lipstick, and looks great alone if you prefer an understated look.
Overall, I really like this collection from Fashion Fair. The products are pleasantly high in quality and have nailed the Fall makeup trends without compromising on individuality. The ordinary silver metallic case that the products come in is no representation of the products at all. I really feel catered for with this collection as the shades are well suited to my skin colour.
