Dr Organic Snail Gel Range
I admit that I was a bit squeamish when I first considered using Dr Organic Snail Gel Range. In fact, to reconcile the idea I searched for a video on YouTube. I needed to be relatively sure that there would not be an adverse effect on my skin. Thankfully, I found a Holland & Barrett video that not only gave the history of the product but also went into detail about the harvesting of the snail slime. I was comforted. I’m not a snail lover but I felt it was important to know that the mini beasts were not being harmed in any way. Snail Gel became popular as a beauty remedy when the regenerative properties of snail slim (Helix Aspersa Muller) was discovered by chance by snail farmers in Chile. They noticed that their hands were incredibly soft and hydrated and minor cuts and scares were healing unusually quickly.
Due to popular consumer demand for its signature Organic Snail Gel and a slight celebrity following, Dr Organic launched their NERW Organic Snail Gel range with a host of anti-aging benefits. I was sent samples of the collection to try.
Dr Organic Snail Gel Moisture Mask It smells lovely with a hint of citrus fragrance. It’s white in colour with a creamy but slightly slimy consistency. I didn’t like the slight sliminess. I applied to my cleansed face. It dried in about 12 minutes. Once the masque was washed off my face felt soft, smooth and looked hydrated. I used the masque because I had a sachet but I was happy with the results.

Dr Organic Snail Gel Facial Serum It comes in a thick frosted glass bottle with a press down cap with a little spout. The first thing that struck me about the product was the consistency. It was a milky white with an almost full cream milk consistency. I was expecting something more jelly like. I used the product for 14 days twice daily. As advised in the product directions, I applied under the Snail Gel Cream at night and after the cream during the day. The fragrance is a mild citrus smell. It absorbed quickly into my skin. However, I was indifferent to the product. It didn’t seem to add anything extra to my regime. When I discontinued it from my regime my skin didn’t seem to miss it.

Dr Organic Snail Gel Cream It’s packaged in a thick clear glass pot. The consistency is a rich thick creamy consistency. Like all else in the Snail Gel Range it has a mild citrus fragrance, which is a unisex smell, I think. I absolutely loved this product. Although it’s rich it absorbed easily into my skin without being greasy. The improvement to my skin texture and appearance was remarkable. The hydration lasted day and night. I sometimes get fine lines on my forehead when I’ve been neglectful with my hydration but this cream stopped all that by day two. After 14 days my skin had a youthful glow, dry patches and fine lines gone. I used it for 21 days and in that time my skin felt supple, and looked hydrated and balanced. I also noticed that whenever I did extraction on acne it healed quicker than usual.

Dr Organic Snail Gel Eye Serum The serum is packaged in small tube with tiny nozzle. I found the consistency to be a bit runny for a serum. Perhaps the consistency had a smaller impact on the effectiveness of the solution than I thought. After 28 days I did notice a little improvement in the appearance of the fine lines developing at the sides of my eyes. Nonetheless, another good quality cream may have had the similar results. I’ve been rather neglectful of that part of my face. Here again hydration is vital therefore, I’m in different to this product as well.

In conclusion, the best performers for me in the Dr Organic’s Snail Gel Range are the mask and the face cream. As a whole, the range is quite good. Depending on each users skin need he/she may benefit from using the entire range. As for me, as stated earlier hydration and balance of my skin tone is among my major skin concerns. Hence, because the range works well alongside other good quality organic skin care products, I can mix and match with products that will tackle my breakouts.
