Delilah Cosmetics

Delilah CosmeticsNew luxe make up range Delilah Cosmetics is a British brand which launched this summer. Delilah is the brain child of a group of friends (a photographer, a make up artist and a beauty buyer) who felt that there was a gap in the cosmetics market which they wanted to fill. What they have produced is a small but perfectly formed edit of products that have a sophisticated feel. Time Frame Future Resist Foundation SPF 20 in Truffle I love the packaging – a pump dispenser in a squeezy tube means that a) you don’t get any air into the product and b) you waste less of the product then if it were in a solid jar/tube. The packaging features a rose gold lid (after the Delilah Rose) and grey tube (inspired by Britannia Steel). This colour theme features across the range. The sunscreen is SPF20 but it does not leave a white grey cast on the skin.

There are currently 10 shades of foundation, sadly the deepest shade is too light for my skin tone but if you have a medium/tan/honey based skin tone you need to check this range out. Hopefully they will cater for my shade and deeper soon, as the texture of this foundation is lovely, it feels a bit like a BB Cream but you can really build it up without the product rolling so if you have scars or blemishes you may not need as much concealer as you would think.

Colour Gloss Ultimate Shine Lipgloss in Amethyst The lip gloss has a slight smell of strawberry bon bons – not at all overpowering but quite mouth watering. This gloss has a delicate colour in the tube. I like the fact that it is not shimmery or shiny. The delicate colour means that sadly it does not show up on my pigmented lips unless I really pile it on. If you are looking for a delicate wash of colour, these glosses which are not sticky and which last on the lips for ages are for you – otherwise you might want to opt for one of their lipsticks instead.

Colour Blush Compact Powder Blush in Opera The texture of this blush is not the smoothest that I have ever used if you swatch it with your fingers, but the pay off on the skin is fabulous. Opera is a bright fuchsia pink, which is bright pink on my deep skin tone. Again, a buildable colour, but what impressed me most was that is lasted all day on my prone to oily skin. The compact opens to 180 degrees and the mirror is large enough to see half of my very round face. It opens and closes without you having to use your thumbnail and it is beautifully tactile. This is my favourite product from the range.

Colour Intense Compact Powder Eyeshadows in Liquorice and Mahogany  Liquorice is not a true matte black, it sits somewhere between black and charcoal. It has the same texture as the blush and is pigmented buildable colour. The colour is lovely wet or dry and with an angled brush you can do a beautiful eyeliner. Mahogany is a beautiful shimmery chocolate brown. The texture is lovely and soft with minimal fallout when used dry and when used wet the colour and the shimmer is intensified. Beautiful!

The Time Frame Future Resist Foundation SPF 20 is priced at £34.00, the Colour Gloss Ultimate Shine Lipgloss is £22.00, the Colour Blush Compact Powder Blush is £26.00 and the Colour Intense Compact Powder Eyeshadows are £20.00.
