Clinique Airbrush Concealer
Clinique Airbrush Concealer is described as a light-reflecting tool to hide shadows, fine lines and to brighten your whole eye area. Housed in a pen-style applicator; you rotate the base to feed concealer onto the built-in brush tip. I would describe it as more of a highlighter or enhancer as opposed to a concealer that you would use for heavier coverage It comes in 10 shades and I received four of them to try out. In order of the swatches from left to right - 1. Medium Deep, 2. Medium Caramel, 3. Golden Honey and 4. Deep Caramel. The names are a tad confusing, as you might assume that some of the shades are a deeper hue than they actually are. It’s also a little difficult to see how deep the colours re from the outside packaging, so it's definitely one to try on at a counter unless you are very sure of your shades with the brand.
The two shades that I found work best for deeper skin tones are Golden Honey and Deep Caramel. Both shades have a peachy undertone, which gives it some fantastic colour corrective properties, as peach or orange tones work well on dark skin to camouflage any dark marks or pigmentation. So it’s perfect for any areas of darkness around the eyes
The applicator is soft and gentle, making it easy to apply and blend and the texture creamy, lightweight, and smooth. It wears well for a number of hours, especially if you set it afterwards with a little powder. I found it stayed put and didn’t crease or look cakey or patchy towards the end of the day. This concealer also doesn't need much dry time to melt into the skin, so you can quickly top it with a finishing powder to set it in place.
This is not meant to be a full coverage concealer so it won’t cover any major circles or dark areas. If that is your main area of concern, a tip would be to first apply a more opaque concealer and then use this to highlight and brighten the area afterwards. Also using it under your brows and in your inner eye area.
This product illuminates, brightens and highlights the eye but in a really subtle way. It won’t give you that over the top, flawless look, but it will give you a nice, natural, more everyday one. I found that this concealer also helped to soften lines and shadows and I love that the application pen makes it perfect to use if you are on the go.
