brownbeauty Goes Pink Part 2

Jo wearing pink lipstickWelcome to Part 2 of brownbeauty Goes Pink where we test out pink lipsticks from various brands and report our findings. Yesterday Segun, Joy and Tamara shared their thoughts on lipsticks by DHC, Lord & Berry, Estee Lauder, Bare Minerals, Revlon, Clarins, Lola, Mary Kay and SBC. Today it is the turn of Jo, Tunrayo, Alexandra and Maria. Jo tried out pink lipsticks by Burberry, Lush and Illamasqua.

Burberry - Primose Hill Pink This is a pink with coral in it, so for me this is not really a pink - in addition it does not suit me at all. You have to work quite hard to build up even colour on the lips but the textures is lovely and moisturising without being greasy.

Lush - Passionate The shade is a vibrant fuchsia pink with a strong blue undertone. It is very pigmented and leaves the lips beautifully stained and the texture is similar to the Sephora Lipsticks without drying matte - it stays moisturising on the lip.

Illamasqua Eurydice - Luster This is a glamore texture bubble gum pink. The colour is bright and youthful, the texture is very moisturising and as can be expected from Illamasqua. It also has excellent pigmentation. This lipstick is my perfect pink, deep in shade, matte in texture and highly pigmented. I love it.

Maria tried out lipsticks by Fashion Fair, GOSH and Essence.

Maria

Essence - Pink Treasure This is a lovely bright iridescent pink with a hint of orange. The formula is moisturising and it glades on easily. However, once applied it looks more like a tinted lip balm.

Fashion Fair - Tropic Pink This is a bold statement pink, the colour is vibrant and long-lasting. It’s a gorgeous shade for day to evening which is perfect because it’s very moisturising.

Gosh - Tropical Pink This lipstick is a very bright shimmery pink that could work on many skin tones. It’s got a moisturising formula and the colour is intense and long lasting.

Tunrayo

Stargazer - 119 I'm totally new to Stargazer Lipsticks, so I wasn't quite sure what to expect. It is a deep pink, highly pigmented and has a durable wear. This shade is so pretty and goes really well with dark or light skin tone, it's feels really soft and apply easily on to the lips.

NYX Matte Lipstick MLS02 - Shocking Pink This is a shocking pink with an intense pigment and matte finish. It also applies easily to the lips with less effort. Perfect for a night out.

Priced at £6.00

MAC Retro Matte Lipstick - Flat Out Fabulous This is my favourite out of all the pink lipstick I was asked to try out. It's a deep and dark pink that's not too bright. It applies smoothly on o the lips with a matte finish. This lipstick is simply just Fabulous.
