Bobbi Brown CC Cream SPF 35

It’s always good news here at brownbeauty when we hear a brand has extended their shade range, we all know how difficult it can be to find a good CC/BB/DD/ZZ cream in deeper shades. Bobbi Brown have added two extra shades to their CC Cream range; Blushed Nude and Rich Nude. This takes the range from three shades to five, which doesn’t sound like a lot, especially for Bobbi Brown, but the CC Cream has quite sheer coverage, so the shades cover a range of skin tones. I received the Bobbi Brown CC Cream SPF 35 in Rich Nude, as this is the one that caters to brown beauties and it’s the darkest in the range. Bobbi describes this as a dream cream, with a three pronged approach to colour correction and treatment to even out your skin tone. CC pigments will neutralise sallowness and redness with light diffusers blurring imperfections and illuminating your skin. Brightening botanicals even out your skin tone over time, while UVA/UVB sunscreen prevents future damage. Bobbi recommends using this under foundation, but I’ve been wearing it alone and adding concealer where needed.

I really like this CC Cream, my only critique is the lack of an orange undertone in this shade. In order for Women of Colour to correct pigmented areas an orange tone is required, I feel this shade lacks that, however it does not turn pigmented areas grey or ashy on me so the CC pigments must be doing something. I feel the shade above this would actually be a better match for me, but as I said the coverage is very light so I can get away with it, especially once I’ve highlighted my face with concealer.

This is a great lightweight base, housed in a handy squeezable tube, and requires minimal touch ups throughout the day. It leaves a semi-matte finish to your skin, but feels hydrating upon application and throughout the day. It’s said to be suitable for all skin types but despite this I would prep accordingly. This product would also be great during the warmer months.

The Bobbi Brown CC Cream SPF 35 is available on their website and cost £29 for 40ml.
