Benefit POREfessional Face Primer
Benefit Porefessional Face Primer, along with the Hoola Bronzer is one of the brand's most popular product. Porefessional is a primer that promises to minimise pores, oil free and extend makeup longevity. Benefit also claim you can use this over or under makeup or used alone.
Porefessional has been on the market for many years and I have known about for a while so I was very excited to try this and it quickly found its place in my makeup routine. The texture is lightweight, smooth and feels almost like a silky powder and spreads easily on the skin. I have noticed that it also layers well with other primers but it’s great on its own.
For my skin tone, I won’t be able to get away with it if I used it alone. It’s a translucent formula but it has a slight tint to it so it leaves a cast on my skin albeit easily disguised with powder or foundations. In terms of minimising pores, I would say it was unremarkable. I don’t have large pores so I was expecting the Porefessional to completely smooth them out but it didn’t do that.
It did smooth out the appearance but it wasn’t completely blurred out. It doesn’t feel like a silicone based primer (even though it does have silicone), compared to other silicone based primers out there but I do like the texture. The thing that impressed me the most about the primer was that it keeps my t-zone (where I apply it) oil free.
It was a bittersweet experience for me using the Porefessional Primer. I found the pore minimizing abilities lacklustre and was left wanting more. I was more impressed by the texture and its ability to keep my t-zone oil free without looking extremely matt.
Benefit Porefessional Face Primer is priced at £27.50 (which I feel is too pricey for this product).
