beautyblender blendercleanser solid

Cleaning brushes and sponges is the worst part of playing with makeup because it is no fun at all but the beautyblender blendercleanser solid has made it a little better.

I usually use liquid cleansers for sponges and my solid cleanser for brushes. Since I discovered solid cleansers, it’s been my favourite way to clean my brushes. I have a favourite which is admittedly on the pricey side. I tested the solid blendercleanser with a view to providing me with a slightly cheaper alternative.

The solid blendercleanser comes in a small circular pot containing a circular soap and a pink silicone pad with a raised butterfly motif. Very cute! It has some recognisable ingredients such as glycerine, coconut acid and aloe vera leaf juice powder which will all work to keep brushes nice and soft. It is lavender scented and is free from parabens, sulphates and phthalates.

I tried to use the blendercleanser solid for my beautyblender but found it a little awkward trying to pick up enough product so I switched to the liquid blender/cleanser for that. For my brushes however, it was great.

I wet my brushes, swirled them on the cleanser then worked up a lather using the silicone pad. I rinsed the brush and repeated if necessary. The instructions say that the pad is a place to dry the beautyblender but I didn’t use it like that.

My hands spent less time in water because the cleanser remains in the pot which is good because I have dry skin. The use of the pad also reduced this time as it was doing the hard work massaging the makeup out of my brushes rather than me using my hands and fingers. My brushes were left lovely and clean as expected.

The little pad is a brilliant inclusion and I love that it is bright pink! I have seen separate pads from other brands but have not yet been able to convince myself they are worth the money.

Now, the beautyblender blendercleanser solid is half the size of my usual solid cleanser and it is noticeable. However, it is a little cheaper at £14.00 and comes with the silicone cleansing/drying pad whereas my current brush cleanser doesn’t. It also didn’t seem to shrink that much compared with the other one. I would buy this because it has everything I need in one package to clean my tools.
