Avon Big and Daring Volume Mascara
I’ve been curious about Avon’s Big and Daring Volume Mascara ever since I saw Irina Shayk’s impressive lashes on the accompanying campaign. The Big and Daring Volume Mascara claims to give five times the volume of your natural lashes and is Avon’s biggest, clump-free, smudge-free and flake-free mascara. The formula has a thin to medium consistency that is not too wet or gloopy, and bears a slight sheen. It also feels conditioning and soft on the lashes. The brush head is very large, with a curved shape that bends to adhere to the shape of the lash line. This mascara has been ergonomically designed so that you can apply the mascara to the lashes in one go, hence the wide middle and tapered ends. The bristles are slightly prickly and the brush head is slightly too large, leading to some clumping in the lashes, particularly if more than one coat is used, but precision in application would give the clump-free, intense volume that the mascara promotes.
This mascara feels lightweight on the lashes despite the clumping. Because of the conditioning formula, it doesn’t flake and appears to be water resistant, lasting several hours before any betraying any sign of running. A lot of mascaras on the market require more than one coat for adequate volume to be achieved, but one coat of this mascara gives ample, big and daring volume.
It contains 10ml of product so presents great value for money, and has a unique black and pink aesthetic which looks as daring as the mascara’s name. Overall, I think this is a great mascara by Avon but could be made even better if tweaks were made to the brush head. It does present great value for money, being pleasantly affordable and accessible.
Avon Big and Daring Volume Mascara is priced at £8.50.
